The Office of the Women’s Rights Advisor to the President, in collaboration with the Tourism Fund and other key stakeholders, launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at Baration Primary School, Kericho County, to empower widows in the community.

The event provided free medical camps and legal aid services to widows, alongside important information from the Unclaimed Assets Authority on how to reclaim assets left behind by their spouses and relatives.

Additionally, the Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE) shared opportunities for widows to access loans that can help grow their businesses and improve their financial independence.

Key figures in attendance included the Speaker of the Kericho County Assembly, Hon. Dr. Patrick Mutai, KIE CEO Lily Ngok, and BCLB Director Anne Too. Through this initiative, widows were also trained on how to access financial services and the significance of taking care of their health, ensuring they are empowered both economically and socially.
